Bonner Community BBQ
This month Alistair Coe MLA and I held a community BBQ in my local suburb of Bonner. As with all of these community BBQs, it was a fantastic opportunity to chat with local residents about sport and recreation facilities in the area as well as other local issues.
From chatting with local residents, it is clear that low-level and petty crime is a significant issue causing concern in the area. As mentioned above, I have contacted the Government to ask what is being done to ensure the safety of residents and their property, and will keep you updated with their response.
Non-compliance with cat containment requirements has also been a worry for Bonner residents, with a number of cats being found roaming the suburb and surrounding areas. I have contacted the Government asking for a detailed response on what is being done to enforce cat containment requirements – I will keep you updated. As with many suburbs around Canberra, urban maintenance also continues to be an issue.
As always, Alistair and I love to hear about what matters to you and what ideas you have to make your suburb an even better place to live.
