Your Member for Yerrabi

I am very happy and honoured to have been elected your Member in the Legislative Assembly for the seat of Yerrabi. It has been the end of a long road, that began in 2008 when I joined the Liberal Party here in Canberra.

As a long term Gungahlin resident, I have been advocating for the Gungahlin region for many years. I have seen first-hand the lack of proper planning, inadequate infrastructure, sub-standard roads, struggling health care facilities, and limited local employment opportunities. Canberrans need better representation so key projects are prioritised, planned and completed on time. I am passionate to see a better future for the Gungahlin town centre, including better roads, better broadband access and improved local employment opportunities, and updating infrastructure in the forgotten eastern suburbs of Belconnen.

As a Liberal, I value the importance of the individual and believe each and every one of us can make a difference. I look forward to bringing this experience, my connections in the local area, and seek opportunities for working with the Yerrabi community to improve services and infrastructure and thus creating better outcomes for families and local business.

Prior to my election I was an owner/publisher of JM Publishing, a graphic design publishing business, for 13 years. I have had a long time active involvement in community work including in Menslink, an organisation I continue to support. I was the Branch President for the Gungahlin Branch of the Liberal party from 2009-2011, and stood as Liberal candidate for Fraser and Molonglo in the 2010 Federal and 2012 ACT elections.

I was proud to deliver my maiden speech to the Assembly on 15th of December, 2016. The text of that speech is available here.

what i offer

01
A Focus on the Community
Building a Better Gunghalin

There is no doubt that Gungahlin has been short changed over many years under Labor. The Gungahlin Town Centre suffers from low patronage caused by locals having to go elsewhere for work, and an old master plan which has failed to move with the times. I will be championing the needs of our local area - including the forgotten suburbs of Belconnen.

02
A Knowledge of Small Business
Canberra as a Business Hub

As an experienced and long time small business owner, I understand the importance of small business to the local community. Whilst in parliament, I want to work towards helping to make Canberra Australia’s leading Small to Medium business hub.

03
A Passion for Sport
Building an Indoor Sport Centre

Whilst on the Community Council, I raised for the first time the need for Gungahlin residents to have access to an indoor sporting centre. Canberra has lost a number of key sporting venues. As an avid sportsman, I will be working supporting the needs of the sports community in Canberra.
